More Than You Wanted To Know...

about me and my blog.

Welcome to my corner of blog-world!

What to say about myself...
Ok, well, I'll start with my name. :)

You may call me Katherine Sophia anywhere on-line, although I also answer to Katherine, Kate, and Lady KS! I originally wanted to use a name that had the same meaning as my real name, but got side-tracked because I liked how Katherine Sophia sounded. :D
I am the second-born child of five in my family and the first-born girl, with seven years between me and my older brother. So, with two younger brothers and the younger sister that I prayed for (took 7 years or so to get her), I'm a mixture of first- and second-born. Bossy, but loyal... ;)

As to what I believe... All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: It's what I'm basing my life on and how I want to live. The Westminster Confession of Faith does a beautiful job of laying it all out, even though I am not quite sure that I agree with some parts of that. :) I have been blessed with a Christian home and family, and although I do not know the exact date, I remember the night I asked Jesus Christ to save me from my sins and to make me a child of God. You can read some of my thoughts on what comes after salvation here. Hopefully more growth will be apparent on this blog! :)

My Blog
I began blogging in June of 2008, and background of why I chose Seek Him First as the name can be read here. Since that time, Matthew 6:33 has become more and more important to me - it is probably the closest thing I have to a life verse. Seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness encompasses both knowing God, growing in grace, godliness, and knowledge of God, deepening our relationship with Him, and also making Him known, being a witness for Him to all nations. Why I think these two things are so important, both being, in fact, the very reason we were created, can be found here.

If you are a fellow Christian, a follower of our Wonderful Savior, I would like to challenge you to be abiding in Him, seeking each day to do the will of our Heavenly Father - knowing Him more every day of your life and making Him known to those around you. You were created to glorify Him,  and Jesus said, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." Join me in praying that we abide in Jesus and so glorify our Father!

If you are not a Christian, are not sure where you stand with God, or don't really know what I am talking about here, please do not let another moment pass without stopping to consider:
Do you know what will happen to you after you die?
None of us can choose or even know how long we have to live - and you are going to be dead a whole lot longer than however long you live. This is not a stupid question. Your eternity is at stake.
Please take the time to at least read through this. I am praying for you, because I want to meet you in Heaven someday!

I want this blog to be an encouragement, a blessing, and a joy to all who visit! Life is an adventure, a battle, and a wonderful gift! I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of mine!
