"To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget."

Isn't it absolutely incredible, Vicki?
I, um, actually came across it quite a while ago, but had some serious disagreements with the worldview of the person who said it. Recently found it in an old email I sent, and remembered how much I loved it. I've forgotten what the person's name is, so just stuck anon. on there, though I'm pretty sure you could find out who said it if you tried. We were all created in the image of God though, and even those of us who do not believe in Him can still recognize truth at times, and capture it in ways that are perfectly gorgeous, so... I had to share it. :)

I know, Melody! I was thinking how perfect it was for writers... So pretty.

:) You are entirely welcome, Jessica! *sends hugs back*
