Through the Waters

via google
He measured... and He brought me through the waters.
Ezek. 47:3
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.
 Isa. 43:2

Our waters are shallow because His were deep. In Psalm 69:2 we see what He suffered: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow Me. For us there is no overflowing: they shall not overflow thee is His promise. For Himself those awful depths. Is there anything we can keep back from such a Savior? O Lord, take our all, our uttermost all; do with us what Thou wilt if only Thy Name may be glorified, Thy heart satisfied.

~Amy Carmichael, Whispers of His Power

Not only did He suffer that overflowing in our place, He willingly enters into the waters each time with us. How can we complain about the rivers we pass through, when not only has He gone through the floods for us, He is right beside us in the rivers too? Do we forget that easily that He careth for us? That He  tells us over and over and over again how much He loves us?

When we love someone, their pain becomes ours - He knows exactly what we are feeling and more, because He has both been through far worse alone and He is here with us now, so we do not have to go through the waters alone.

O Lord, take our all, our uttermost all; do with us what Thou wilt if only Thy Name may be glorified, Thy heart satisfied.

Can we say Amen to that?
